Cookies are small text files a website places on your device. They are used to keep a site working (session state, security), to remember your preferences, and sometimes to understand how the site is used.
This policy explains every cookie set by myrmexgroup.co.uk, why it is set, how long it persists, and how to control it. It is written to comply with the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) 2003 and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
Myrmex Group sets only the cookies listed below. We do not use advertising cookies, remarketing pixels, or social media trackers. Cookies are grouped by category below.
This website sets no cookies of its own to function. Nothing is written to your device before you make a choice.
Your consent choice is stored in your browser's local storage under the key mg-prefs, not in a cookie. It stays on your device, is never sent to us, and holds one word: granted or denied. Clearing your browser's site data removes it, and the banner then reappears.
These cookies are set only after you click Accept on the consent banner. Before that they are blocked, and the scripts that set them are not loaded at all. You can withdraw consent at any time via the link in the site footer.

Microsoft may also set cookies on its own domains when Clarity runs, currently CLID, ANONCHK, MR, MUID and SM. These are Microsoft's, not ours, and Microsoft can change them without telling us. We have not independently verified their lifetimes, so we do not state them here. Microsoft publishes the current list in its Clarity cookies documentation.
This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and measure loading speed. It sets no cookies, reads no cookies, and writes nothing to your device. It does not follow you to other websites and does not build a profile.
Because it stores nothing on your device, it falls outside the consent requirement in PECR, so it runs on every visit whether or not you accept analytics. Cloudflare hosts this website, so it already receives the address of the page you requested and your IP address in order to serve it. Note this is a different product from the Cloudflare infrastructure that serves the site, and it is unrelated to any cookie Cloudflare's network may set for security purposes.
On your first visit, a consent banner appears at the bottom of the screen with two choices:
Your choice is stored in local storage under mg-prefs and respected across the site. Until you accept, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity are not loaded and no analytics cookie is set. Cloudflare Web Analytics runs either way, because it sets nothing on your device.
You can change your mind at any time by clicking in the footer of any page. This clears your previous choice, re-shows the banner, and allows you to re-decide.
Google Analytics 4 reports how many people visit, which pages they read, and how they arrived. This website uses Google Consent Mode v2. When you decline, Google Analytics sets no cookies and receives no identifiable data about your visit. When you accept, the cookies above are set and visit data is sent to our Google Analytics 4 property.
Microsoft Clarity records how the page is used: mouse movement, scrolling, clicks, and a replay of the layout as you moved through it. Text you type into form fields is masked by Microsoft before it leaves your browser, in every masking mode, so the characters are not recorded. The fact that you used a form is. Clarity is loaded only after you accept, and sends nothing to Microsoft before that.
Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views and loading speed, without cookies, as described above.
Google, Microsoft and Cloudflare act as our data processors for these services. Data is processed in accordance with Google Privacy & Terms, the Microsoft Privacy Statement, and the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. See also our Privacy Policy for more detail on what data we collect and how it is handled.
In addition to the consent banner, you can control cookies at the browser level. Disabling cookies may prevent this website, and most other websites, from working correctly.
